SleepMed Inc. - mySleepMed for Patients - EEG Test Prep

If you have been scheduled for an ambulatory EEG test at one of our DigiTrace service centers, you may want to review our EEG Patient Education Brochure and EEG Q and A Brochure, which are available for online review below.

Your appointment for set-up will be at our service center; however, you will be able to return home following your set-up.  Your testing time may be for 24 hours, 48 hours or 72 hours, depending on your physician's order.  Once your testing period is over, you will return to our service center for your disconnect.

An ambulatory EEG test involves the application of leads and electrodes to your scalp and forehead.  The leads are attached to a small unit that captures all your brain wave data for your physician's interpretation.  There is no pain or discomfort associated with this test.  Your head will be wrapped to hold everything in place, so you may feel that taking time off from work during your test may be necessary.  If you would like to maintain your normal schedule during your procedure, it will not negatively affect the testing outcome.
